Antique Dragon Ring with Jade

A client brought in an antique ring of white metal with an Asian Dragon on the front.  I didn't test it, but it appears to be alloyed silver and the stone might be Jade.  It was a size 15.

Antique Chinese Halmark in Dragon Ring

Note the antique Chinese Halmark inside.  This usually indicates a well made item right off the bat.  It may be have been a ring used for wedding ceremonies on the wedding day itself.

Jade Dragon and Phoenix Bowl

The Ring above was brought in the this bowl.  It appears to be jade, very nice colour.

Asian Hallmark

Again a very nice Asian Hallmark.  I believe it may be Chinese.  It may be royal as well.

detail of phoenix

.The Chinese phoenix is known as a 'feng huang' sites on one side of the bowl.  It looks like it's silver but I didn't test it.  The Phoenix and Dragon also as 2 of 4 guardians that hold up heaven known as Sì Xiàng

detail of Silver Dragon

Opposite to the phoenix is a very nice Chinese dragon known as 'lóng'. Together the Phoenix and Dragon represent the most auspicious symbols for marriage.  Which is why I'm inclined to thinking it's was a cerimonial bowl for a wedding day.
