This triskele design is from an Iron age sword scabbard from Hungary dating to the 1st century ad.  It is a triskele in that it's pattern repeats every three steps.  The triskele was worn for good luck and eternity (past, present and future)

 

This band is 10mm wide and is very contemporary given it's age.
